We all know the difference that great teachers make, and as part of our commitment to encouraging well-trained teachers into classrooms, Laidlaw College is extending our zero tuition fees offer to all our Primary and Secondary Initial Teacher Education programmes in Auckland and Christchurch in 2025.
Teachers at Laidlaw train in a rich learning community where every student is known. Our lecturers bring decades of experience as leaders and educators to facilitate programmes that are formative, practical and designed for the distinct cultural and community contexts of Aotearoa. As a Christian college, everything we do is shaped by our vision for how faith, hope and love can renew lives and classrooms.
Dr Roshan Allpress, National Principal, says, “As a College, our mission is to equip women and men to renew their communities. We hope that lowering the financial costs of study will encourage people to pursue Teaching as a calling, and to transform lives and communities around them.”
Dr Amanda Perry, Head of Education, says, “I am excited that we can offer zero tuition fees to enable more people to enter such a rewarding profession. As a teacher you will be in the unique position of positively influencing the lives of children, young people, their whanau, and the wider community. Given the growing demand for teachers, it is an exciting time to join the profession.”
