STUDENT SERVICES FEE
Laidlaw provides a number of non-academic support services to ensure students have equal access to education and can be assisted during times of unexpected setback or crisis. These range from pastoral care and counselling to more practical provisions of equipment and recreational spaces. All students at Laidlaw are entitled to use these services as required. Recently the Government clarified what types of services are covered by Government funding and what comes under the category of a Student Services Fee.

The Zero Tuition Fees is applicable to the first year of the Bachelor of Education (Primary) and the Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) programmes at our Auckland and Christchurch campuses in 2026.

Fees Free
Starting tertiary study or work-based learning for the first time? You may be able to get Fees Free after you complete your first eligible qualification or programme.
Fees Free covers the cost of your fees for the final year of study or final two years of work-based learning, up to $12,000.
When you enrol, you will need to pay your fees. To help you cover this cost, you may wish to apply for a student loan. Find out more at Student loan – StudyLink.
